Company Origins

Created in 1851, the Wooster Brush Company became one of the initial paint applicator suppliers in the United States. Adam Foss founded the company. He transferred from Pennsylvania to Ohio and began the company. He began by making handmade bristle paint brushes. In Wooster, Ohio, he started the company in a 2-story building. The brushes were made available door-to-door all over Ohio.

The company purchased land on Madison Avenue in 1909 to generate a new factory. The building was 70-feet in width by 200-feet long. This generated approximately three times the actual floor space they formerly held. Nowadays, the Madison Avenue building is the Wooster, Ohio hq.

The business has just elected 9 presidents since Adam began it. In August 2010, William S. Fagert took over as president. He's been with The Wooster Brush Company since 1985.

The company has been functioning for 165 years. It has reached several industry milestones including:

They produced the Shasta® style paint brush and also the angled sash paint brush.

Wooster presented the preliminary synthetic roller covers and fabrics which all have grown to become the industry norm.

To cement or attach the bristles into the paint brush, the “Foss-set” process was invented.

Wooster came up with the Exploded-Tip® design to generate soft flags along the endings of the filaments.

Wooster became the first brush company to use nylon filaments for latex treatments and revolutionized painting as we know it.

These are the reasons why The Wooster Brush Company happens to be an industry standard and the finest applicator inventor across the globe. The Wooster Brush Company has proudly developed many of the industry’s best products. Each year, the company showcases new product designs. The Wooster Brush Company makes more goods than any other high-quality paint installer manufacturer. The business harnesses a “made in America,” mindset and has passed this on down generations.

Brush Defining Factors

Materials

Incorporating solid ferrules, comfortable handles, synthetic filaments, the most suitable bristles from China and durable blends is the reason why these paint brushes are leaders all round. The Wooster Brush Company only depends on the best items from around the globe to create their products. If they can’t find what they are looking for, they have formulated their own materials.

Tipping

The filament or tip is easily the most fundamental part of the paint brush. How the filament or tip or finish is engineered is directly related to performance. Our proprietary tipping methods are guarded meticulously, which is typical for virtually any paint brush manufacturer. The end is a major reason behind how effective a brush brand is.

Taper

Check out the paint brush edgewise. Discover if the tapers proceed to a point and if they do, you definitely will enjoy better control. The tapered filament brushes permit the paint to flow and generate a more even finish thanks to better coverage. Pumping the paint onto the surface allows improved cutting-in strategies to be generated. While un-tapered or level filament paint brushes are cheaper, they drastically compromise coverage, control and surface capacity.
